1st Six Weeks Review and 2nd Six Weeks Changes

Press Release

September 23, 2020

To: Parents/Guardians/Students/Staff of BISD

From: Bosqueville ISD Administration

1st Six-Weeks Review:

Thank you all for a great start to the school year. The In-Person students have done a great job of complying with the health/safety guidelines. The BISD staff has done a great job as well working through the many new challenges they have faced this school year. Our day-to-day operations continue to go well as we learn the best approach for classes, lunch, extra-curricular events….etc.

We look forward to welcoming students back who have been Remote Learners beginning with the 2nd six-weeks.

2nd Six-Weeks News:

Based on review of the 1st six-weeks we will be making some revisions beginning on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. The revisions will be as follows:

  1. Only students who are required by the school guidelines to be at home can be Remote Learners. Normal absences will be counted absent as usual and the students can make up their work once they return back to school. This is for all BISD students (Grades PK-12).
  2. The MS/HS is revising the Daily Class Schedule by adding a 9th Period Class. The daily start and end times will not be affected. The 9th Period will be used for any student who wants additional help (tutorials), and also for the classroom teacher’s to be able to connect with Remote Learners. If your HS or MS student does not need the additional time they will be released at 3:05 pm. If they want to remain on campus until 3:35 pm we will have a designated area for them to stay and be supervised.
  3. Students who want to receive additional help must report to the appropriate classroom by 3:05 PM.  Students who do not need the additional help should leave campus by private transportation or by buses on their first run at 3:05 PM. Any student remaining on campus after that time will report to the designated area and be released at 3:35 PM.  Students who attend tutorials and student-athletes in the off-season program should leave campus by private transportation or by buses on their second run at 3:35.
  4. In order to accommodate dual credit students, high school students in 8th period athletics will report to the gym after 7th period.  Students will start the athletic period at 245 PM and dismiss from 8th period athletics at 3:35 PM.  Student-athletes will use the time from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM to complete academic work or attend tutoring.
