Regarding Executive Order GA-34 issued by Governor Abbott on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Bosqueville ISD and the Bosqueville ISD School Board want to ensure you that we are taking a thoughtful and strategic approach to this Order. We are currently considering all information and determining what is in the best interest of our students, staff and community regarding this Order moving forward. Along with the GA-34 Order the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has the legal authority to publish requirements for the operation of public school systems during the COVID-19 pandemic, this can be found in the Public Health Planning Guidance document from (TEA). Based on the current guidance we have from Order GA-34 and (TEA) we ask that you consider the following:

• School Districts may continue to operate under their current guidelines on masks per (TEA) guidance
• The governing board of a school system may modify or eliminate by formal action the current masks related guidelines for the District
• Close contact guidelines from the CDC and Health Department remain in effect. Whether a person is/is not wearing a mask is a consideration used to determine quarantine.
• Understanding the day-to-day operations of a school regarding the following settings: classrooms, buses, extracurricular activities….etc.

Until more information can be obtained, Bosqueville ISD will remain operating under our current guidelines. On April 12, 2021, at the regular scheduled School Board meeting this will be an agenda item which will allow for Board discussion and a determination of what the next steps will be for the District in relation to Order GA-34.
